What you get
A ready Datadog organization with a paid plan: install the agent on your servers, connect your clouds and telemetry starts flowing straight away. The first thing to establish is whose email owns the organization and what rights you get — without admin rights you cannot change the product mix or see the spend. Ask about the data residency region as well: it is picked when the organization is created and cannot be changed later. How warmed-up it is and the number of paid cycles hint at whether the organization was really used for work rather than assembled for resale.
About the service
An observability platform that gathers host metrics, logs, traces and application events in one place, with the Bits AI agents working on top of that data. Bits Chat answers questions about the state of your systems and builds the telemetry queries for you, while Bits Investigation acts as an on-call engineer: it picks up a firing alert, works through hypotheses and lays out the likely cause in plain language with links back to the evidence. Bits Code drafts fixes and unit tests grounded in logs, traces and runtime values, and the agent builder lets you assemble your own helper on top of ready-made actions for clouds, CI/CD and security tools. The AI side is metered in credits, while the platform itself is billed by host count and ingested data volume. It earns its place where you run many services and need to shorten the path from a firing alert to knowing what broke.
