What you get

A Zed subscription is issued to your own email: editor settings, themes, extensions and agent session history stay with you. Check the plan — it determines whether hosted-model tokens are included and whether you get the admin layer with org-wide policies. The seller states the next charge date at delivery, and it is visible in the account dashboard.

About the service

A Rust-built, GPU-rendered code editor: fast startup, low input latency, LSP, a built-in debugger, git and multibuffers. The editor itself is open source and free, while the paid plans cover the AI layer: edit prediction, the agent panel and Zed-hosted models. External agents connect over ACP and tools over MCP, and instead of hosted models you can run on your own keys from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, Ollama and other providers. Real-time collaborative editing is included, and the AI features can be switched off entirely if you would rather not use them.
