The subscription ended and did not renew — is that a dispute?
No, if it ran the paid period out: you bought a period and it ended. Renewal is a new deal, and the platform reminds you in advance.
Yes, if the paid period was cut short: the subscription was cancelled, the account was shut, or the payment never went through. Then the unused remainder comes back — which is exactly what the staged payout to the seller is there for.
The seller must state the next billing date at handover — that date shows whether the period ended or broke off.
